This formula contains concentrated garlic bulb extract (Allium sativum), enterically coated to protect the alliin substrate from stomach acid, enabling intestinal alliinase enzyme conversion to allicin and downstream thiosulfinates (including ajoene and vinyl dithiins), the primary bioactive antimicrobial and cardiovascular-protective sulfur compounds that are destroyed by stomach acid in non-coated garlic supplements.*
